Finally, a place to find all of those great recipes we talk about on the forum. Post pages here to share with the howie community, collect a few for your own cookbook, download all pages into your own booklet template, or download the entire collection already formatted in booklet style - it’s up to you. Page design is also up to you - be creative with images, ingredients, dividers and instructions; there is no limit to your creativity.

OVERVIEW

Communication about the Howie Cookbook takes place on the HOW DESIGN FORUM. There is no limit to the amount of recipes you can submit for all categories. No fees required to participate, unless a group decides to go in on a keepsake print edition - more on that later.

DEADLINE

Start submitting your recipe pages today for immediate download. For a compilation of the newest recipes in booklet style, downloadable by Nov. 9th -  the last day to have your recipe and divider pages included in that is sometime in Oct. -  more details to come. Catch me at conference to see a printed sample.

PRODUCTION

Individual hi-res rgb PDF pages with live text (no outlining), include your forum name and any dynamic links (or specify url designation in email submission). Hi-res format means large recipe files and longer downloads. If there are no photos on your page, it’s ok to submit a medium-res file. It’s helpful to export with PRINT rather than PRESS optimization since output is most-likely for laser and ink-jet printers.

SPECS

All pages are 8.5x11 trim, with 3/4” margin on the left and right, 1/2” margin on the top and bottom - which leaves a live image area of 7x10”. Margins will help when all pages are exported into a into a double-sided booklet, so only allow for a horizontal bleed.
